Bobastro
It's worth visiting Bobastro on your way back from the Lakes. Its a ninth century Christian church and fortress. Hidden behind a rocky hill, which has just been re-developed to include wooden steps for easier climbing, the church is unusual because it was built as a Christian place when Andalucia was ruled by Muslims. It is entirely built out of rock, and is said to contain the tomb of Ibn Hafsu, a Christian emir who founded a short lived independant state in the region in 880.
